Slovak is another part of my ethnic heritage. The Slovak side comes from my Father's mother. She always made traditional Hrutka or "Egg Cheese" for the Easter table. My family still continues the tradition today. Check out the recipes and pictures.

  • 12 eggs

  • 1 quart of milk

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 3 tbsp. sugar

Combine all ingredients and cook slowly until eggs coagulate. Drain through a large cloth and hang up for about three hours. Form a ball and remove from the cloth. (You may decorate it using cloves to create a cross.) To serve cut in thin slices at your next Easter celebration.
